Happy Thanksgiving
Thankful. That is how I feel every day to serve as your Superintendent. We have completed 14 weeks of school, completed our Fall extracurricular season with great success, and we continue to support one another through these demanding times.
As we enjoy Thanksgiving break with our families and friends, on behalf of the District Administration and the Board of Education, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all you do to make our schools and community a great place to learn and live.
As we reflect on the many things for which we are thankful, I want to take this opportunity to share just a few of them with you: We are thankful for our students who come to school every day or remotely ready to learn – they give us all a daily reminder of what is important and why we are here.
We are thankful for the support of the parents in creating an outstanding partnership for our students. We are thankful for the teachers, health aides, bus drivers, secretaries, nurses, lunchroom aides, support staff, therapists, and administrators who really care about students and have the best interests of our students at heart.
In these most difficult and challenging times, we see dedicated and tireless individuals going above and beyond to make sure that great things happen in our schools. They do make a difference, and the children are safe and benefit from those efforts.
Most importantly, we are thankful for the parents and guardians that have kept the confidence in us. You continue to share your most valuable possession with us and—in most cases— work hard and advocate to be a partner in their children’s education, safety, and well-being. For this, we are ever so thankful North Platte Public Schools has and always will be a partnership with families and community. Thank you all for your support in preparing our students to be productive, responsible citizens in schools that are safe, caring, and supportive.
I would like to wish all of you and your families a happy, healthy, safe, and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday!
